ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
For over two decades, the International Youth Conference – European
Values for the Future of SEE Countries has been a flagship regional
platform for young leaders, decision-makers, and changemakers from Southeast
Europe (SEE) and the European Union.
Founded in 2003 by Youth Alliance – Krusevo, the conference has continuously evolved to reflect the social, political, and economic
transformations of the region, while staying true to its core mission — to promote European values, democratic participation, and regional cooperation among youth.
Held annually in September in the mountain town of Krusevo, North Macedonia, the conference has become a symbol of dialogue, reconciliation, and youth empowerment, gathering more than 2,000 young people from over 20 countries throughout its 23 editions.
MISSION AND VISION
The conference seeks to:
- Encourage active participation of youth in democratic processes and regional cooperation;
- Promote human rights, solidarity, peace, and reconciliation in Southeast Europe;
- Empower youth to be voices of change and advocates for sustainable and inclusive development;
- Strengthen civic dialogue between youth, institutions, and policymakers at national and regional levels.
Its long-term vision is to build a generation of young Europeans who embrace diversity, cooperation, and shared responsibility for shaping a democratic, resilient, and united region.

Impact and Achievements
- Over 2,000 youth participants
and 350 speakers engaged since 2003.
- More than 100 youth policy
recommendations shared with regional and EU stakeholders.
- Birthplace of the Youth
Visions 2020 initiative and Next-Gen Leaders Network.
- Continuous partnership with the Federal
Foreign Office of Germany, Regional Cooperation Council and numerous youth networks.
Sustainability & Legacy
The International Youth Conference is more than an annual event — it is a
movement of youth action across Southeast Europe. Through its alumni
network, spin-off initiatives, and ongoing collaboration with civil society and
institutions, the conference continues to inspire action, nurture
cooperation, and amplify young voices in shaping Europe’s democratic
future.
